ATTENTION: U.S. MALES HAVING LOST A FATHER TO SUICIDE - Fatherless by Suicide Project As 80% of all suicide deaths in the U.S. (Canada as well) are male, this Fatherless by Suicide project will be a wonderful opportunity for males to share their stories and connect with others who have also lost their fathers. Our stories are one of the most powerful ways to educate and raise awareness and also allow us to connect with others having experienced a similar loss. I wanted to share this project and hope that our male members on this page whether American or not, will get involved and SHARE on their pages to help the men in our lives talk more openly about something that claims so many lives. Since creating the Suicide Shatters FB page, my demographics have always remained the same - 18% of those on this page being male. Its something Id like to see change because were losing so many males to suicide and part of that is the reluctance to openly discuss the inward struggles so many are coping with. Chris Michael who created this storytelling project will be travelling form New York City to San Francisco from August through October. Hell be interviewing men throughout the journey and if youre interested in participating by being interviewed, you can fill out the form to connect. fatherlessbysuicide/participate In order to participate you must be: - 18 or over - willing to sign a consent form and - willing to have your portrait taken and voice recorded* * If you would like to participate but wish to remain anonymous, we can take steps to ensure your anonymity as well as take a portrait that will not reveal your identity. Im happy to discuss, so please get in touch. Feel free to email me at FatherlessbySuicide@gmail as well. Many thanks to Vadeeva, a member of this page for messaging about this much needed project. I ask you to consider sharing this post as we never know who on our FB friends list may be interested in participating.
