AUCKLAND REGIONAL FREIGHT RAIL LINK POLICY BRIEF This proposal is the direction where I want to take Aucklands great freight rail heritage and bring it back into the new modern day age. I have experienced the speed trains of South Korea and Japan. I have seen their rail freight industry at work. It is clear to me that attention to detail and proper funding has been fundamental in achieving its exhilarating experience. This is my template. As such I will require the following. A PUBLIC VOTER DISCUSSION PAPER 30 AUGUST 2013 1. Auckland Freight Rail Link from Oakley to Marsden Point. 2. Regional Freight Rail Links anywhere else in NZ where Auckland needs one. 3. Do we need more Freight rail routes within Auckland? Where? 4. Have we got the best trains available on the international market? 5. Reduce the terrible sound of steel on steel. What about Kevlar rails? Goes back to shape if a quake hits? Science and Technology to help Rail bosses to reduce the blackboard scraping noise. 6. A weekly base payment for every Freight train that goes past a home. Amounts will be according to the decibel readings. Instead of hating the noise, the locals will be counting their easy money. 7. Auckland Rail trade apprenticeships are a big priority of mine. 8. Auckland Rail to have specialized Emergency Response Units. 9. Maori and Pacific Wardens to be paid danger money to provide 24/7 security. 10. MOTAT to be modernized and upgraded. Lets get the old girls out puffing again.
