***AUDITION*** The Rain King The Rain King is a new play by up and coming Playwright Sarah Wallis. It received an initial performance last year as part of a New Writing Season for the West Yorkshire Playhouse. Rain King will tour three venues - Barnsley Civic, Harrogate Theatre and Bradford Playhouse this coming September through to October 5th, due to conflicting schedules we are urgently recasting two roles. Auditions and Rehearsals will occur in Leeds. We expect to be able to provide transport from Leeds to Barnsley, Harrogate and Bradford, however we cannot offer any other expenses. The work is profitshare based on ticket sales. If ticket sales are good (and tickets have already been sold) then we expect a good return. The Rain King is about a young man with an Elvis tribute act who travels to Africa during the dry season. Auditionees for Aiden will be expected to display singing and dancing skills. Roles available: Janet has lived and worked in Africa much of her life helping to build and maintain facilities. She can come across as jaded, but is mentally and physically tough. Janet is aged 40 to 50 Aidan: A young, slightly naive man with a love of Elvis Presley. Aidan believes in the best of all things and the best of all people. Aidan sings and dances as Elvis during the play. Auditionees will be expected to demonstrate these skills. Being an Elvis lookalike is neither a requirement nor a barrier. Aidan is aged 18 to 30.
