AUGGIE WENT HOME WITH HIS FOSTER MOM TODAY!!! Auggies foster mom had some great news for us. Auggies recent skin scraping results were very good and he will now need only one medicated bath per week! Of course, we are hopeful the mites wont recur once his medicated baths are less frequent. Auggie will require two mite free skin scrapes in a row, a month apart, to allow his medication and baths to be even less frequent. It will most likely be another 2-3 months before Auggie is pronounced mite free. Keep those good thoughts and prayers coming, they seem to be working along with all the excellent care Auggie has received from his vet, Dr. Vicente, and the staff at Haines Road Animal Hospital in St. Petersburg. Now his dedicated foster mom will keep up the treatments and make certain Auggie feels right at home with her!
