AWESOME DAY!!!!! Well jump to the end.....Just now, I received e-mail offer of a NYC play. I will be Juror #3 in Twelve Angry Men the last weekend of June. Rehearsals start in two weeks. I own the play so I can work from an actual script. The company is called AlphaNYC and it gives an opportunity to newer actors in the NYC area a chance to be seen on the NYC stage. Im super stoked. The rest of the day was pretty kick ass too....it started with an audition at 11am 5 blocks from my house. Its for The Collegiate School Film Class. Collegiate is a private high school and it would actually pay so it should be good. Student written and then student directed w/ the assistance and oversight of the instructor. Noon came the week three call with Dallas Travers. We worked on building our circle of influence....working on reaching out and asking for assistance from those we admire and are looking to work with to let them be aware of where we are in our careers and getting alternate opinions on where we can go with our careers. Also created a definition for our real reward....what is it that an agent gets for working with me. Creating this as a mantra for positive energy to move us forward when we might have some doubt. Went for an interview for a sales J.O.B. Not going to do it. Commission only, with a guarantee of minimum wage if sales dont reach that level. Then I went to what I thought was an audition for an improv troupe and it was an audition for Improv classes and the chance to get discounted rate. When I realized this, I didnt check out but continued with the last 45 minutes of the class/audition. Still provided some good insight and tips that I can use going forward, but informed them of the misunderstand at the end of the class. So....the play in my bag will be changed. I will start highlighting my lines and working on the role. Breakout opportunity? Who knows. Well see in 7 weeks.
