About 150 young cancer survivors and their families attended Life After Cancer” workshop, hosted by the REACT (Reassessment and Evaluation After Cancer Treatment) Program at the Childrens Hospital at Montefiore. At the workshop—School and Work Life After Cancer—REACT program director Michael Roth, MD, gave sobering data: Compared to their peers, childhood cancer survivors are less likely to graduate from high school, earn a stable income and live independently. The REACT program offers much needed help. Thanks to all who made this day of sharing and learning possible: Dr. Leslie Cunningham, Denise Velazquez, Lindsay Davis and Talia Haviv, Ruth Santizo, Rigoberto Tomala and Trish Camia. This event wouldnt have been possible without our volunteers and sponsors: Dahunt for the Cure, Chillin’ with Adam : The Adam Gaynes Foundation Inc.
