About 2 years ago my dad was in the hospital because he almost died because of his lung disease. He was in a coma for about 2 weeks and everyone was scared. I remember me and my older brother Vernon went to go see him and Me and Vernon broke down in tears when we did. After that me and him went away together to an isolated room and we were talking, then Vernon asked me a random question and said Jared what do I have to do to get saved with God and stuff. So I told him what Jesus did for him on the cross and explained the gospel to him and he had a little bit more deeper understanding of it when I got done and I remember him having a smirk on his face and said oh, I didnt know it was all like that. I then asked him to pray with me of he wanted to accept the gift of salvation that Jesus paid for and he said Aiight man and he prayed with me and asked Jesus to come into his heart and to save him. Lol then right after praying he says Jared Im not going to lie lol Im probably still going to be smokin weed and doing what Ive been doing but I do believe it. And I laughed inside when he said this because for some reason Vernon had this perspective of me that I was perfect and didnt sin and the people who really know me know thats a lie. So I said Vernon u dont worry about that its a growing process, God is the one who does the sanctifying work in you not yourself and even in that you will never be perfectly sinless in this life, thats why we need Jesus. So I am at peace that my brother is with The Lord now, and I thank God for that special time I had with him. The bible says everyones days are numbered and God controls life and he controls death, He is the ruler of this universe because he created it ALL. And God in his wisdom TOOK him. U say why so young well I dont know u guys I dont. Why does God allow a newborn baby to be born and then the next day allow it to die? Why does God allow a lot of the things He allows to happen to us? I dont know... But what I do know is this, that everyones life is a message and God can use the tragedy of death to reach the most godless kind of people and turn their eyes and heart toward Him. God is good, their is no fault in Him, his love is everlasting, he will never fail you, he will never leave you, he can be trusted, His judgments are sound, the peace He gives is unfathomable... Life is a reality, death is a reality, God is a reality and He loves you. I love you guys and I appreciate your encouragement and condolences.
