This had to be placed because she was not eating on her own due to the congestion. When cats cant smell their stinky kitty food, they will often not want to eat. The congestion is draining now (like a faucet), and the vets are confident that Elena should continue to improve. Her four little babies are eating well with our bottlefeeding fosters. They are a little fatter and stronger every day (see updated baby pics below)! No Kill is finding a way for every life, because every life matters! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Original Post: Momma Elena was pulled by our Blount County Humane Society from the local kill shelter. She was very pregnant and unfortunately very ill. She is suffering from a very bad upper respiratory infection, and was also severely dehydrated. We placed her in a loving foster home, and began treatment. Unfortunately, Elena got worse. Then, she went into labor. Very scary situation. Momma Elena has been taken to the emergency clinic for critical care to help her breathe. We are giving her every chance we can to pull through. Between our full service vet clinic and the emergency clinic, we are having to maintain round the clock care for momma and newborn babies. The babies were born premature, and we are also doing all that we can to help care for the little ones. This care is very costly, and we cannot provide it without your help! We are a donation only 501c3, we rely on our supporters to keep our animal programs running! Please donate if you are able to help this young family!
