About 32 years ago I wandered into The State Hornet offices (The State Hornet is the student run newspaper at Sac Sacramento State), someone asked what I wanted, I told them I wanted to be a reporter. The student editor laughed at me and told me that being a freshman I couldnt write for the paper--yet. Id have to come back next year. I didnt like that answer; I cam back every day. I finally wore them down and they had me write the news briefs section. The following year I was the 2nd female sports editor in State Hornet history (shout-out to its first: Gina Spadafori). And the year after that I was its managing editor. Today, I begin as its faculty adviser. I am super proud and honored to have this opportunity.
