Happy Veterans Day, Soldiers, Airmen, and Sailors. Youve done so much that we dont think about. Sure, we consider the deployments, the PTSD, and the wounds. And for that, we owe you everything from quality medical care to sincere hugs. But do we remember that service men and women create an environment where those without direction can enlist and find a path towards the straight and narrow? How many lives have been positively impacted by entering the service and learning how to meet expectations, how to be physically fit, start a career, and so many other things? The military is a stabilizing force in American culture. And a formidable force in foreign policy. Im thankful for all of it, and all of you. So ring the bells and fly the flags today. Think of some specifics to thank a veteran for beyond a casual thank you. And then consider a prayer of gratitude for their Mamas and their spouses and their kids who struggle to let them go.
