About 35 KES students signed up to hear me speak during their lunch period today. They rushed into the library smiling, not even noticing how nervous I was. At Kuwait English School, the mission is to Inspire, Challenge and Encourage. I was able to contribute to that mission by offering my own point of view, explaining why its important to LIVE YOUR DREAM. Given 45 minutes, I captured and sustained the attention of young minds, as they shared details about their future goals and asked numerous questions. At the end of my presentation, they were surprised to discover that Kuwait is the first country I decided to visit outside of the U.S. and they were excited to learn that my first overseas motivational speaking engagement had just occurred at their school. I knew that impacting lives in the states was possible, but today I truly realized how powerful Ive become outside of home, especially after a few students personally thanked me for igniting their respective passion(s) and asked for extra LYD wristbands to give away to their friends who missed out. I also just received an email from one of them, an aspiring writer, requesting feedback on two of her poems. Sometimes, its really hard to believe that I am who I am. Im still the girl from Jacksonville, Florida, who simply loves to write, but finally understanding that Im now also an International Writer who is capable of changing the world... #GoneGlobal #WriterGrind™
