About 8 or so years ago, Janis Bryant, then chorus director at A.C. Reynolds High School, invited me to hear her group during a rehearsal before going to Carnegie Hall. I wept when I heard the voices. I was covering the story for the paper, and actually cried at the brilliance and purity of the souls singing their hearts out. And now, fast-forward, and tonight, I cried again, as I have many times in the past few years since my daughter joined that VERY chorus, now directed by Phillip Haynie, also quite brilliant. My daughters brief soprano solo (so beautiful), and the blend of seemingly professional voices in this choir, still make me weep. Im sure other chorus groups are wonderful, but theres just something extra special about the Reynolds group of singers. Bravo tonight. Cant wait for the Holiday concert from these singers usually held at First Baptist Church!
