About Lead poisoning is a serious issue; Leadie Gaga promotes awareness in an empowering way, engaging the audience to learn more about the toxin in their homes. Company Overview This isnt your Grandmothers lead anymore, so stop treating it that way! Lead poisoning sucks, especially once you discover that it is entirely preventable. Sometimes a mother bear will go to all lengths to protect her cub and ROAR to alert other parents of an invisible danger that no one talks about. Enter Leadie Gaga… Some may not agree with my strategy, and thats fine. There are specific demographics I am trying to reach, and not all folks are into any Gaga. Ive been the polite mom, waiting my turn for over 14 years for answers that will never happen unless I push the envelope of total public awareness. Ive consulted with some of the top national experts in lead for several months who not only like the idea, but agree that the timing might just be right for this to work... Lead is not strong enough to stand on its own for publicity, the public doesnt know how to read or listen to that four-letter word, clouding messages that the experts are trying to share. We know that lead levels greater than 2.5 start to cause IQ loss/brain injury, and yet the CDC refuses to lower the threshold from 10 micrograms per deciliter. Over the past decade, I have presented with some of the top experts in the US, including: Dr. Herbert Needleman, Dr. John Rosen, Dr. Jay Schneider, Dr. Kim Dietrich, Dr. Vivian Cross, Dr. Morri Markowitz and Dr. Ted Lidsky. My work on the field of childhood lead poisoning includes videos through the Ohio Department of Health, the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services, multiple television interviews and articles. Since Leadie Gaga’s debut October 13, 2010, the national support has been overwhelming – lead has no celebrity offering to take up the cause, so I’m going to create our celebrity. The plastic dress is only the beginning, there will be more costumes, some edgier than others, but all will contain the toxic lead. There will be no retirement for me; lead is a lifetime cause, since I deal with the repercussions daily – swap places with me if you dare, but don’t you dare judge me. My future grandchildren (may they be YEARS away) have already incurred an exposure that wouldn’t ever be attributed to renovations done while their parents were babies. No, I’m not going away. All I can do is continue to take the road less traveled and combine lead and English and theater together and make people pay attention to LEAD.
