About PJ Willis: Vocal Coach and performer, PJ Willis was born and raised on the Mid North Coast. He trained as a performance major at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music from 2007 under the tutelage of Christopher Allan. During his time at the conservatorium, PJ performed numerous well received recitals, including his final recital in 2011 which received the highest grade of any recital that semester and earned him a scholarship. PJ also became a sought after performer in the Newcastle area, appearing in productions such as The Producers, Avenue Q, Into the Woods, Candide, The Gondoliers and Carmen, as well as numerous concert appearances. PJ has been a teacher of voice for almost 6 years, with a strong focus on healthy vocal technique and production. PJ has been living and studying in London since February, working with renowned vocal coach, Raymond Connell. He also undertook a 6 week intensive training course on Accent Breathing Technique for singers. The Accent Method helps the student to coordinate breath, vocal function, articulation, body movement and language. The main principle of The Accent Method is to develop and strengthen the normal functions of the voice thereby giving the singer a secure foundation for voice use. Returning to Australia after his time abroad, PJ feels refreshed and eager to share new ideas with students.
