About a week ago I went to our county jail to preach. I go there - TopicsExpress

About a week ago I went to our county jail to preach. I go there every other Saturday night. Five men showed up and all them had already been saved. We started singing and then I asked if anyone had a testimony. A few gave a good testimony and then one man give a testimony that touched my heart. He had been saved as a young man and for some reason got away from God. His job was in the coal mines and he worked hard and over the years worked his way to superintendent. He was in a mine in southern Ill. with 600 men under his control. By this time he was living a life of luxury, liquor and with the ladies. This was his choice and his sin. His testimony was this, " I want to thank the Lord for this jail because it was here that I could look up and see the Lord." He lost everything that he thought was important, but in reality he lost everything that was keeping him from seeing and serving God. The next time that we are tempted and we will be, ask yourself this question. Do I really want to thank God for a jail cell?
