About this time 7 months ago my son André went to bed with too much pills in his body and didn’t wake up again. Last night while watching thru old tapes looking for material I came across a tape called Berlin 09. At that moment I didn’t remember what was on and put it in the machine and looked .. and my heart cramped. It was this recording on with him laying in the same position as I saw him at the morgue. After the first shock the memories came back. At that time he already was in trouble but he was 17 and a bit of trouble is to be expected as a parent at that time. At least I was a handfull when I was 17. But I wanted to show him Berlin and we took the night train from Malmö to Berlin. We arrived early and did all the tourist things, looked at the former wall, sat at lots of cafes just watching people and we talked and talked and just enjoyed each other. We had not booked anything but we found a hostel on a houseboat and that was perfect. The morning after I got up early and saw this reflected lights from the waves on the ceiling over him and turned on the camera and I remember I was so happy just siting there and watch him sleep and there where no worries just pure love. I turned of the camera after a while but remained in the moment for a long time until he woke up. We had a wonderful time in Berlin and we came closer and now that he is dead I’m so thankful for this trip that I will always will keep close to my heart. I miss him so much.
