About to start a new part of my life, Content with decisions and changes that have and will occur, It will be a long walk, that is all I am sure of, But your departure makes it all the more difficult. For now I find no solace in the words and and thoughts, No matter whom offers or gifts them. I know things must go on and the dawn will shortly come, But the dread of the night takes its toll on my being. It all happened fast, no time to prepare, but never in my life, Could I have readied myself for that faithful day. I rushed, I drove and ran faster than I ever imagined I could, Yet time was never on my side, time had its own plans. I will go on, I have to, my plans have to be kept in motion, But worry not, for your memory will not fade, I shall not allow myself to forget, the joy and the pain.
