Above The Timberline The cold winds swept through the frozen valley, chilling me to the bone, as I searched the nearby mountains for an answer. I climbed above the timberline, the moon lighting my path as I walked on. Overwhelmed with hunger and thirst, now wanting to give up my search; when suddenly, I saw her in the far off distance. She was wrapped in furs, and sitting by a camp fire, her golden hair blowing in the wind. As I approached her, she turned to me and said, Hello old friend, come and sit beside me. She was not a stranger to me, we had met once before. It was on a beach, and not so long ago. You came a great distance to find me she said, Come and warm yourself by the fire. I sat next to her, and she smiled at me. She offered me food and drink, before she closed her eyes. Tell me she said, what now do you feel inside? I told her once more, of the woman with the eyes of a Viking queen, that has entered my life. I told her of the warmth of your kiss, and feeling safe and secure in your arms. I told her of your journey, to the land of the great wall; and hoping our last embrace, would see us through the days, until the time came, when I could hold you again. After I spoke, she opened her eyes and said, “I can see your heart just as I could on the beach, and it is filled with hope, and sadness. It still beats for this woman that you speak of. You must listen to it, for it alone will show you the way. I must tell you my friend, I am not of this earth. My home is among the moon and stars. But you need only to search, to find me for answers, Then she smiled at me, and softly kissed my cheek. And as I drank the warm nectar she had offered me, she stood, and vanished into the darkness. ,
