Absent thought for art’s sake - TopicsExpress

Absent thought for art’s sake What inspires you to draw? What inspires one to dance freely or write consistently? If you do not know I’m sorry but you are not a true artist in my mind. If I really have to answer this question for you it’s the feelings and emotions you have for your work. Some say art, writing and dancing are a hobby for them and the people who say that truly don’t know what an artist is. But no it’s not a hobby it’s a full blown passion that should be express to the fullest your mind will let you. As you sit and stare into your page ready to express emotion and feelings you begin to think, what should I draw? Stop right there you’re doing it wrong. Don’t think of what should be on that page or how it should be completed. That’s where the purest of thoughts and creativity and emotions come from your absent thoughts. When you’re not thinking you are more focused than ever. Feel the way you create the idea don’t stop to think where your pencil, brush or pen should be, don’t think where your next dance step should be placed or what is the next word to be added to your sentence. Art is like beginning a sentence before you know its ending. You should never think about art it kills the creativity. What is the point of thinking what to draw and how to draw it when your creative mind can do it for you? Let the feeling flow through your veins and go through to that blank page that will soon be consumed by human natures greatest trait: creativity. You know that feeling you get that gives you the urge to create art? Some of the greatest pieces of art are made from the deepest emotion and feelings of one’s self in there absent thought. They feel the pain and happiness they go through and express them self’s through art. You know what I’m talking about when you have that urge to dance your feet off or write till your fingers are tangled. That is the emotion you feel at that point of time of absent thought. Never ever and I mean never think about art, I will say it again it kills your creativity. Don’t weep over a piece art that you expect is better than yours. Don’t think that because someone can draw the nose, mouth, eyes and ears in perfect sync with each, write the perfect sentence or can dance with the perfect step and rhythm. Don’t use that to stop your mind from creating, use it to your advantage and learn from others. Besides you’re not the only artist out there. Understand that everything around you is a new idea to go off of. If it is interesting or not that idea brings new perspectives and creations to your work of art. Understand that the difficult challenge’s you experience shouldn’t be a bump on your path it should be a new direction of thought, a new emotion or feeling. Don’t ever let yourself down about your work it is always beautiful because you made it yourself and no one else. Please create for me
