Absolutely ashamed to be a SACA member today. Those who decided - TopicsExpress

Absolutely ashamed to be a SACA member today. Those who decided against making SACA memberships transferable despite the date of the test changing - because of truly tragic circumstances - should reconsider their involvement with South Australian cricket. Last time I checked cricket was the national game. It is a sport that brings this country closer together and should be available to all. Given the test has moved from Friday to Tuesday means many current members will struggle to make it to many days of this test. As a member, I accept that in the current circumstances. However as a member I should have the right to pass that ticket on to someone who can attend. Tuesday will be an emotional day for the Australian cricket team and an organisation that truly believes in supporting Australian cricket would want to ensure as many people as possible could be at the ground to support our players. Unfortunately SACA clearly doesnt believe in Australian cricket. Let us not forget this is the first test at Adelaide Oval since the full redevelopment has been completed. Again the SACA would prefer to see seats go empty. Why? Because the board doesnt want the prestige of a SACA membership to be diminished and as such its financial value into the future. In this current climate, watching the Australian team play its heart out for their mate should be made available for all to view in the members stand, not just the elite in society, which is clearly SACAs view. In my opinion this shows a complete lack of class and is something not only the players would be disappointed about but probably Phil Hughes too. To put it simply its just not cricket!
