Absolutely delighted to meet Vandana Shiva again at the launch of Benih Bali, Balis local seed bank. This project was launched today in Ubud at an event called Our Seeds, Our Future where Dr Vandana Shiva gave a passionate keynote speech which resonated with the large crowd gathered to hear her. The event was organised by Slow Food Bali, Mantasa, IDEP Foundation (permaculture organisation). Vandana was absolutely inspirational and the clarity of her message that creating living seed banks of open pollinated seeds that can be shared and multiplied is critical for addressing hunger and food sovereignty, and be a powerful way of non-violent action against the control of our food system by a handful of large multi-national corporations.
