Abud-Dardaa said, “I heard Allah’s Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) says, If one followed a way to obtain knowledge, Allah will ease for him a road to Paradise. Angels stretch their wings as a token of their pleasure with what the pursuer of knowledge does. Moreover, the inhabitants of heavens and earth, and even whales invoke Allah’s forgiveness for the learned person. And the advantage of a knowledgeable person over a practicing worshiper is like the advantage of the moon over other stars; learned people are the heirs of prophets, and prophets left neither a dinar nor a dirham but they bequeathed knowledge. So if one gets such a knowledge, he will attain substantial fortune.” [narrated by Abu Dawud, at-Termidhi Ibn Majah and Ibn Hibban]
