Academy family and friends in the local area: Be advised that the Southbound Academy Boulevard onramp to northbound I-25 closes Aug. 13 for daytime paving. The onramp from southbound Academy Boulevard to northbound Interstate 25 will close for 15 hours beginning at 2 p.m. Aug. 13. The ramp is scheduled to reopen to traffic by 5 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 14. The closure is necessary to pave the acceleration lane from Academy Boulevard to northbound I-25. The detour during this ramp closure is: * Academy Boulevard south to Voyager Parkway, Voyager Parkway north to Briargate Parkway, Briargate Parkway west to northbound I-25. Crews are paving I-25 northbound lanes to Black Squirrel Creek (just north of Interquest Parkway) before moving to the southbound lanes. The addition of daytime milling and paving will result in: * Daytime speed limits will be reduced to 55 mph where milling and paving are taking place * Nighttime speed limits will remain at 45 mph where milling and paving are taking place Subject to weather and road conditions, daytime milling and paving will take place Monday through Friday while maintaining three through traffic lanes whenever possible. Nighttime work will continue five nights a week, Sunday through Thursday. Drivers can expect to see heavy truck traffic in the area as asphalt is delivered for the paving work. Final paving is scheduled end in late summer. All work is subject to weather and road conditions.
