#Accident: Seven Escape Death in Ho Seven people including, an 87 year old lady narrowly escaped death last Wednesday, November 26, when the bus of the School of Hygiene in Ho rammed into a sheltering them. Apparently, six of them were working in the building which happens to be the office of the infamous Ray Makosa Photo Electronics and Soundz while the old lady was sitting behind porch adjoining the office. One of them, Eugene Opoku a photographer told Daily Guide that he was dumbfounded when the incident happened. The accident that happened at about half past 12 midday attracted lots of residents who were all full of praises for God for saving the lives of the seven, especially the old lady. The bus with registration number, GV 2367 14 was returning from Taviefe after sending students to undertake some public education assignment. It is suspected to have developed a break failure and hit a taxi cub before skidding off to crash into a traffic light, the ‘Stop and Pick’ Boutique Shop and subsequently the Ray Makosa Shop. Eric Amoako, an eye witness who was equally stunned at the incident noted that “God is very great” and commended the driver of the school bus for his smartness in averting what could have been a major accident. He narrated that he (Eric) was walking on the pavement from the old-Barclays Bank building towards the Ray Makosa traffic light. Just as he was about to reach the traffic light, the incident happened. He said the bus which was full of school of hygiene students was approaching from the opposite direction (OLA TOP road) towards the Ray Makosa Traffic Light. The bus overtook the vehicles ahead of him awaiting the green light, instead of stopping. At this point Eric suspected the bus may have lost control or had a break failure. Just when the bus was about to jump the traffic towards the road leading to the civic center traffic light another vehicle (a taxi) made a left turn. This impeded the bus’ movement hence the bus also turned left to avert a major collision. In the process it scratched the taxi with registration number GE 3819 W and drove into the pavement fence then a traffic light, the container before ramming into the Ray Makosa Shop. The drivers of both vehicles, escaped unhurt as wells the over 120 students who got-off the bus through the windows. The Fire Service and the Motto Transport and Traffic Department (MTTD) of the Regional Police Command came about 30 minutes later to clear the area and assess the damages done.
