Accompanied by a delegation of Danish journalists last week, Danish Ambassador Ms Hanne Fugl Eskjær visited the Noakhali and Laksmipur districts. The visit provided an excellent opportunity for the Ambassador to learn more about the challenges faced by the vulnerable population in the two districts from extreme weather and climate change, as well as about the achievements of the climate change adaptation project implemented by the Local Government Engineering Department with financial support from Denmark. The visit to the Ramgati Upazila, struck by relentless erosion by the mighty river Meghna, was an emotional encounter for the Ambassador. Denmark is happy to be able to pledge continued support to climate change adaption in the coastal districts.
