Accompong Town in Jamaica is a testimony to the knowledge of God in the African culture before missionaries got there. Thus, the African slaves did not have to adopt to the religion of their captors as is erroneously purported but rather accepted the logic of their own indigenous religion. They accepted Christ as the logical conclusion of the African Akan culture, with its biblical sacrificial system, the Sabbath concept, Yahwehs knowledge and blood atonement. Calvary was the best explanation or fulfillment for their sacrificial culture. The slaves accepted Christianity not because the slave master beat it into them but something rather in them agreed with it. It clicked and made sense to them and they were more than willing to embrace it regardless of the masters brutality. Africans knew God!
