According the California Department of Public Health, Marin has the lowest level of childhood vaccination rate in the Bay Area. There are various reasons for the high PBE (Personal Belief Exemption), but for those who are unsure or concerned about the value of vaccinations, or the dangers of going with - or without - them, theres an excellent, unbiased, NOVA special that looks at the various pros and cons of vaccinations and allows both sides their say. I highly recommend anyone and everyone with an interest or stake in public health (not just the well being of their children) to watch it: pbs.org/wgbh/nova/body/vaccines-calling-shots.html For the latest vaccination statistics in California, but city/school/county, go to: blogs.kqed.org/stateofhealth/2014/09/11/vaccine-opt-out-rate-doubled-in-7-years-look-up-your-school-online/ (FYI Diane Portnoy)
