According to CHRISTOPHER PALMER, the music that would eventually become VARIATIONS ON A WALTZ FOR ORCHESTRA was originally developed by MOROSS in the mid 40s as a waltz theme for duo pianos. It was also note-for-note an extract for a fourth act, Ridinghood Revisted for the Moross/Latouche musical BALLET BALLADS. It was eliminated in the final production. This classical work for orchestra consists of a theme and nine variations. Here is the Waltz theme from VARIATIONS ON A WALTZ FOR ORCHESTRA by JEROME MOROSS.
