According to my diocese website, it has ADOPTED AND ADAPTED common core curriculum. I see the change in our school. I have bright it to the attention of my sons teacher and principal. Met with denial of negative change. Our Terra Nova test was labeled as common core aligned. ( note many teachers in the school have privately told me the changes in curriculum are horrible). I contacted the superintendent and she has said that they did not adopt the curriculum ( despite the statement on the website) . My question is.. If the diocese adopted it.. Is it the same as the state and we cannot just opt out if certain parts of curriculum. According to common core if you adopt you must teach all and can add 15% and thats the only change.. I feel Im being stonewalled... Any advice or info on a diocese actually adopting cc?
