According to recent studies 1 in 5 Latinos will die of heart disease. High blood pressure, diabetes, obesity, high cholesterol and physical inactivity all play a role in the increasing number of Hispanics with heart disease. Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity Inc, the leaders of the Latino Greek Movement, alongside the American Heart Association, is conducting a Nickel Drive to beneift the AHA in research of Heart Disease, Stroke and other related health concerns. All undergraduate chapters of Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. are challenged to raise at least $38 by December 2, 2013 for our philanthropy. Each sector and alumni entity is encouraged to accept the challenge as well. Each entity should make a page under the nearest sector. This year the nickel drive will run from November 1, 2013-December 2, 2013. All proceeds collected will be donated to AHA. Founded in 1924, the AHA is decidated to building lives free of heart disease and stroke through research, education, and prevention.
