According to the recent art market survey by Finnish Association of Designers Ornamo, the Finnish art scene does not serve all Finns but focuses on large-scale consumers of art. The summary of the survey will be published this week in English. Damien Whitmore, the fortright keynote speaker in Ornamo’s seminar last week, drew a lot of attention in Finland. YLE News reports that he called on Finnish gallery and museum curators to make art a part of peoples lives so that they could attract larger audiences.
