Accountability and structure is one of the key components in the successful completion of a transformation and establishing long term, positive lifestyle behaviours which is why I expect Biweekly Reports, Dietary Adherence forms, and photos in on time, all the time. Just because you’ve deviated from plan and put on some scale weight doesn’t mean “it’s a failure” of a check-in. The dialogue between us during these situations is key and I actually prefer MORE DETAIL as to what went right and what was off so we can make corrections and adjustments along with better preparing for the future. The biweekly report isn’t for me to determine if you’ve succeeded or failed – it’s for me to gather information so I can help you navigate your way through holidays, events, or momentary lapses of compliance successfully. For some people, there will probably be events where you will have to eat off of plan on a monthly basis. Sometime more. Hopefully less. I’m here to “coach” you through these missteps. I’m not here to tell you that you’ve succeeded or failed and I’m certainly not going to be disappointed. Avoiding the facts isn’t creating harmony with dieting and fitness. It’s creating more imbalance. If you’ve only given yourself 3 months (my minimum amount of working time) because of budgeting reasons, then give your program 100% if you’re serious about achieving your goals. If you’re a long term client, then use these events and missteps as an opportunity to learn and strategize better for the future. CORRECT AND CONTINUE – It’s still my favourite saying. I’m never (EVER) going to say “CORRECT AND GET AROUND TO GETING BACK ON PLAN WHEN YOU FEEL LIKE IT”.
