Summary Responsible for the ownership and maintenance of all aspects of the customer Accounts Receivable module through the performance of the following duties: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Enters finalized cash receipts and updates accounts receivable ledger by customer. Controls access to all documents in accounts receivables regarding cash receipts. Compiles and sorts documents, such as cash receipts, substantiating business transactions. Prepares analysis of accounts as required and determines the validity of claims and write offs. Checks validity of company accounts receivable balances and makes recommendation whether to collect or write off these balances. Initiates new account setups (including Dun & Bradstreet reports), analyzes and determines credit limit. Monitors and maintains customer maintenance and bid file maintenance. Prepares and records bank deposit transactions as needed. Assists with related special projects, as required, such as account invoicing and accounts payable overflows. Education and/or Experience Associates degree in Accounting or equivalent from two-year colleg e, two years accounting- related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be computer literate and proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of products. Skills and Competencies Action oriented, customer focused, adaptable to change, ethical, good team player, strong time-management skills. Good knowledge of accounting business process flow and accounting transactions. Proficient with MS Excel and business ERP systems used in processing accounts receivable transactions. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals , safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
