Act for Singapore Singaporeans have been paying top dollars to the PAP government who constantly boast that they have got (or hired) the best people to run Singapore. PAPs Lee HL strongly justifies paying high salaries, yet, experience shows that in spite of multi-million salary, there was the colossal failure in the MRT system, public housing went out of reach of the average Singapore worker and an Islamic terrorist escaped through a toilet window of the maximum security prison. Now, the most ridiculous thing is to spend $1.5 million worth of special lighting equipment to stimulate the growth of grass seeds in the National Stadium. The lights, hovering slightly over a metre above ground, are kept on through the night to act like sunlight; forgetting that Singapore has abundant of sunlight all year round! In sunny S’pore, why does pitch at National Stadium need artificial light? I am curious to know why we have to invest in lighting equipment to expose the pitch to artificial light in sunny Singapore. I wonder if the stadium design contributes to the lack of sunlight exposure. One of the reasons given for the poor condition of the pitch is the number of events held at the stadium. Recently built stadiums in Europe, such as the Emirates Stadium and the Allianz Arena, host football matches at least once a fortnight, besides other events. Their pitches do not appear to have the same issues our National Stadium is experiencing. todayonline/…/sunny-spore-why-does-pitch-nat…
