Active dogs are always healthier and happier. This includes not only exercise, but also socialization and enrichment. Adoptable Oscar is incredibly friendly and curious, which makes heartworm treatment during the hot Louisiana summer difficult since he cant be outside for long periods of time or exercise as much as hed like. So this weekend we took Oscar for a bit of exploring at Jefferson Feed, Pet & Garden Center where he sniffed every single flower, and met some new friends. Oscar loves a challenge, so we also did some training exercises. If your dog has health issues, or in the case of bulldogs cant stand the heat, consider alternative outings so they can work their canine senses.
