Acts 2:1-12 Chapter 2 Coming of the Holy Spirit When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. The Crowds Response And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under heaven. And when this sound occurred, the multitude came together, and were confused, because everyone heard them speak in his own language. Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born? Parthians and Medes and Elamites, those dwelling in Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya adjoining Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabs—we hear them speaking in our own tongues the wonderful works of God.” So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, “Whatever could this mean?” This is just one point of todays sermon in Bradshaw State Jail. I know of a denomination that believes you have to show evidence of your salvation by speaking in Toughs and Im going to explain this and other promises. I hope you can see what I mean when I say Im living the impossible and with God all things are possible. I dont know completely what Im going to tell those inmates but its going to go something like this. The Day of Pentecost was a day of miracles, it was the day mankind got the Holy Spirit. And those who got the Spirit shared the good news in the native tough of of the different nationalities that were there in Jersalem. That was a special day and why we dont see a repeat of that day every time someone gets saved, well I dont know. The promise is after salvation you get the Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Im amazed at the subject matter that the Holy Spirit come up with for the group that Im suppose to preach to. And as I move though the different dorms the message will change just a little bit to minister to each and every person there. Today is going to be a day of miracles.
