Acts 8:30-31, 35 – Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard - TopicsExpress

Acts 8:30-31, 35 – Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him… Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. In this encounter Philip did at least two things right… First, he did not impose. Philip was invited to share the gospel. Second, he followed the agenda of the Ethiopian, staring where he was at. If those within the modern church followed the example of Philip, do you think our evangelistic efforts would be better received? This week, look for opportunities to bring up your beliefs about Jesus. And when they arise, be like Philip, and share the gospel with gentleness, a recipient of hospitality.
