Acts 9:3-4 3 Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. 4 And falling to the ground he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” Saul went on his way to Damascus with full intentions of arresting and killing Christians. He was a enemy of God and His people. But God chased Saul down and encountered Him in the middle of the road and forever changed His life. What I love about this is the fact that even though we don’t pursue God, He pursues us! When we run away from Him, He runs after us! We don’t initiate salvation, God does. Think about the story of Saul on the road to Damascus and then think about your life, where did God meet you? How and when did it happen? Think about how Jesus transformed your life and saved you even while you were going down the wrong path. And if you are reading this today and you can’t answer these questions, today is the day that Jesus wants to encounter you. Take a few moments and meditate on these verses, and I pray that God would fill your heart with thankfulness and love for Him as you think about His amazing saving grace. Romans 5:8 but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Ephesians 2:4-5 But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, 5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
