Actually Becoming A New Creation in Christ and Having Eternal Security in Heaven with Christ... Deena..:) When studying these types of hard to understand doctrinal issues I have found that I have to stand on this verse in John 16:13-15, “When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of Mine and will disclose it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine and will disclose it to you.” And I must remember to have out my searchlight like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, it says that the Bereans “were noble minded than the Thessalonicans, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so.” I am constantly praying that the Holy Spirit will guide me ‘into all truth.” The Apostle Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, asks the Corinthians believers to give themselves a test. “Test yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves that Jesus Christ is in you; unless indeed you fail the test?” (2 Corinthians 13:5) This is a very important test to take…everything starts here beloved…we HAVE TO know that Jesus Christ lives inside of us, to know that we have eternal security….We have to know that He is “in us” and we are “in Him”….it all starts here....read Romans 10:9-10...that is the gospel...the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes,,,,this is when He comes to live within you and this is the point that you become a New Creation in Christ...(2 Corinthians 5:17) Paul uses the word “Body” to identify his subject regarding relationships in our Christian walk. He always uses the word Head with the metaphor Body, with the risen Christ being the Head of His Body, The Church. Membership in that Church is acquired by the on-going ministry of the Holy Spirit when He baptizes (immerses) us into the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:13), at the EXACT MOMENT we are saved ((it is false teaching to teach of a second blessing baptism of the Holy Spirit, that some teach comes sometime after your salvation))….. this particular dipping of 1 Corinthians 12:13, into Jesus Christ, causes us to change because we drink of the Spirit. Once we drink this living water we never stop drinking of Him. This endless drinking of Him is eternal life. This baptism by the Holy Spirit forms the Body by uniting believers to Christ, the risen glorified Head, and to each other. (Colossians 3:1-4). Some believe that we are able to lose our salvation, but if we are ‘in Christ’ we are ‘seated in the heavenly places with Him’ (Ephesians 2:6) right now. It seems strange to me that God would raise us up with Christ and seat us in heavenly places and then toss us in and out as consequences for our sin that has already been “taken out of the way, and nailed to the cross.” (Colossians 2:14) John uses the word “Unless” in John 6:53. “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves.” (John 6:53). “For My flesh is the true food, and My blood is true drink.” (John 6:55). We now understand that we “drink His blood and eat His flesh,” (John 6:53) with our ears and eyes, not with our mouth….this is reading His Word beloved…. “I am the living bread that came down out of heaven; if anyone eats of this bread he will live forever; and the bread also which I will give for the life of the world is My flesh.” (John 6:51). ). And because of this phenomenon we will be raised on “resurrection day—the last day.” (John 6:39). Spirit baptized believers are ear and eye drinkers of His flesh and blood…..His Word is the True Food and Drink of our souls….. We never stop drinking in the “Living Water.” “Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life. (John 4:14). This water that Jesus gives us clearly says that it is eternal water that carries us through eternal life. A Sovereign God places man in Christ by giving him the gift of faith (Ephesians 2:8), when He shows mercy, “So then it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy.” (Romans 9:16). A Sovereign God rules over all of His creation. “The Lord hath prepared His Throne in the heavens; and His Kingdom rules over all.” (Psalm 103:19) A Sovereign God draws men unto Himself, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.” (John 6:44), and “The wind blows where it wishes” (John 3:8) “Which means that man can neither harness nor hinder it.” If God is Sovereign in all of these roles, would He not also be Sovereign over the eternal security of one of His chosen ones, that “He chose before the foundation of the world.” (Ephesians 1:4)? ….But the MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT is that you must believe the true gospel that saves your soul that is found in Romans 10:9-10…and after you read those 2 verses…please go to Romans 10:13 and see that “Whosoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved…”……I want you to know that Jesus Christ loves you very much and no matter what you have done or what you are currently doing….His grace and mercy is BIGGER than that….all you have to do is ask Him to forgive you beloved…..read Romans 10:9-10….and BELIEVE…. I Love you…:) Deena BIBLIOGRAPHY Pink, A. W. The Sovereignty of God. Great Britian: Billing and Sons Limited, 1959. MacArthur, John. Bible Commentary. Nashville, TN.: Thomas Nelson, 2005.
