Adam Ndlovu died in a horiffic accident, Zimbabwe lost a hero, a nationally acknowledged player. All football fraternity mourned to an extent that all tabloids and newspapers put that as headlines but it didnt really flock on my newsfeed. It was an untimely death hence shocking, so indeed we had to mourn as Zimbabweans. The news hardly touched on other nations with the exception of a few, but I dont remember any significant buzz in the media from other nationalities, well understood, it was our fish to catch. Senzo Meyiwa is shot dead on unclear conditions. South Africa has lost a hero, the death is untimely hence shocking, and the South Africans really ought to mourn like they are doing (My sincere condolences by the way). Reaction to the pandemic is international (coz we care right?). But there is one specific nation which has depicted an overwhelming kind of mourning. All Zimbabweans change their Whatsapp and Facebook profile pictures to those of Meyiwa, Statuses RIP Meyiwa, Site themes to who killed Meyiwa, wished the criminals were caught and got the deserved punishment, far ahead of the South Africans plight. Well, my concern is that the latter people are both national soccer stars of equal importance to their nations. Indeed, when a neighbour loses a family member you have to pass condlolences but is it logical to do that when you forgot to mourn when your own family lost a member? I dont know, maybe its because we diversely differ as people in what I call morality. #JustSaying
