Although The Basement Tapes was bootlegged as Great White Wonder once the secret recordings leaked out, and Columbia subsequently released the 2 LP set The Basement Tapes in 75, the sessions remained mythical. It was at Dylans peak. He had just released the first double LP in rock history, Blonde on Blonde to huge acclaim. The Band was just starting to find their own voice, and The Basement Tapes sessions would merge into the finding of their own sound which would lead them to superstardom with their first 2 LPs, THE BAND, and MUSIC FROM BIG PINK. Even though Dylan sang He Shall Be Released, much of what was recorded in the basement of Big Pink was not released, and has remained one of the holly grails to be unearthed from the vaults... So here it is. They say its complete. I cant wait to drop my needle on this one...#Thebasementtapes
