Additional charge in fatal London Costco crash A 65-year-old woman accused of criminal negligence causing the death of a six-year-old girl now faces the same charge for the death of the girl’s sister who was still in her mother’s womb when a car crashed into them inside Costco.A woman who crashed through an Ontario Costco killing a six-year-old and injuring her pregnant mother now faces an additional charge in the death of the baby who was delivered by emergency caesarean section after the crash. The baby, Rhiannon Bozek, died seven days later. Police say the additional charge relates to the death of the baby when a red Monte Carlo plowed in reverse through the front entrance of the store July 25, striking a pregnant Danah McKinnon Bozek and her daughters, Addison Hall, 6, and Miah Bozek, 3. Ruth Burger, 65, was already facing three charges: Criminal negligence causing death in the case of Addison and two counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm for injuries suffered by McKinnon Bozek and Miah. Originally, police said they couldnt charge Burger for Rhiannons death because she had not been born when the crash occurred. Since announcing the first three charges, police said they have reviewed the evidence with the Crown and decided on the additional charge. Investigations dont finish when charges are laid, said Const. Ken Steeves. I cant get into details, but reviewing the evidence and co-operating with the crown, it was determined now that laying the additional charge was appropriate under the circumstances. Burger had been a customer at Costco that day, police said. Though police have said they dont believe Burger intended to crash into Costco, charges of criminal negligence indicate they believe the driver was reckless, wilfully doing something she knew or ought to have known could cause injury or death. mmm read this one drivers everybody else here 10-4
