Adnan Oktar: “I hold fast to the creed [community, nation] of my forebears Abraham and Izaac and Jacob.’’ I spoke that verse as evidence in court. I was on trial for saying I was from the Turkish people and the nation of Islam. The word “nation” appears in the verse, so I said I was from the nation of Islam and the Turkish people. They demanded 15 years’ imprisonment for me at that time. I found my own evidence in the Qur’an. I read that verse in court as evidence. Look, it speaks of the nation of Abraham. I said it in that sense, but of course the court did not listen to me. I was detained for 19 months, 9 in solitary and 10 in a mental hospital with the worst lunatics. Then they said I had spoken the truth and that what I had done was not a crime. They said I was free to go, after being held for 19 months. Of course that is all for the best. And of course Almighty God will impose the path of Joseph. You have to suffer injustice to reach the rank of Joseph. You cannot attain that rank if you deserve to be in prison. They abandoned him in the well when he was only a child. That was terribly unjust. And that was not all. The woman then wanted to have relations with the Prophet Joseph (pbuh), and she slandered him. He was then put in prison. He spent 7 years in prison, totally forgotten. Then they came to their senses. If they had not come to their senses, he would have been there all his life. But did all this weary the Prophet Joseph and bring him down? No, he was very happy. He spent 7 years in prison. The governor was even impressed by him. Everyone in the prison heeded his words. My dear one never spoke a word of protest in prison. He submitted to God. God causes these things to happen for a reason. They remembered that he understood about dreams. So they called him in. When they saw how intelligent he was they told him not to go back to prison, but to stay and help them. Did the Prophet Joseph have any tanks or guns? Did he have thousands of followers? Did he have a lot of money? No. What did he have? Sincerity. He was the mahdi of his day. Allah gave him victory. What was Almighty Allah’s condition? That he submit in the face of sufferings. That he have fortitude in the face of troubles. Otherwise there could have been no such outcome without suffering. Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktars Live Conversation on A9TV dated April 18th, 2014
