Adoption Story by Barb Aker: Thirteen years ago we lost a beloved lab that broke our hearts. It took 8 months before we decided to find another dog. I also believe in shelter adoptions, saving one life is the least we could do. So we went to the shelter and there was a cute little German Shepherd puppy that ran into my lap and peed. So wasnt sure I was ready for that. We then looked around, asked all our questions and saw a little black and white dog cowering in the back of the kennel. We were told she was half Dalmatian/border collie mix about a year old. I then noticed an E pinned to her door. I was afraid to ask and was told she was to be put down that day as she was supposed to be put down on Monday, this was Friday, but they didnt because she was so sweet. They opened her cage and she crawled out on her belly, put her head on my lap and looked up at me. Yep, the rest is history. We had her for another 12 years before her health became an issue and we miss her every day. We named her Anne.
