Adoption Update: Its a Christmas Miracle! Weve are over-joyed to announce that Gilbert has been ADOPTED!!! He is now with his forever family and finally home. He found a great family that will dote on him and give him all the love he can handle. The Duron family lost their dog to cancer a couple years ago and were finally ready to adopt again. When they saw Gilberts story online, they applied immediately. Gilbert has parents that work from home and two teens that are crazy for him. He is settling in quite well and will be spending Christmas at his new lake house. Life will be as it should be for this young sweet boy after all he has been through! Gilberts foster home says Tough love is never easy...and this is a VERY bittersweet day for us. We had to keep him confined for so very long during his surgeries and the healing process. This poor boy had to watch everyone else in the house have fun and play while he healed. Once cleared to be active again, this last month he spent with us was a blessing as we got to have fun with him and watch him get stronger each day. We will always miss him, but I believe he will remain in our lives and we will get to watch him blossom through photos with his new family.
