Adoption Update on Brando! Soooo - I thought I would take a minute to update you on Brando who we adopted from Best Friends after a one week volunteer stay at one of the cottages at Best Friends in August, 2011. Brando was sent to us on Sept. 2nd, 2011 and at that time he was 9 years 7 months old. Well, we are happy to report that Brando is still with us and doing quite well now over three years later and at the age of 12 years and almost 8 months !!! In fact on our walks he still gets compliments on being such a handsome boy. I think he would tell you he has had a fabulous retirement these past three years with us. He lives like a king here at our home in Watertown, MA with us. He travels virtually everywhere we go - in fact we have not even gone on an overnight trip without him because he is so bonded with us and we do not want him to be anywhere else. In fact last summer, we drove out to Colorado Springs to spend July and August out there and he took the trip with us and loved every minute of it. We hiked virtually every day out there with him at our side. But mostly he loved the car trip going out and coming home - barely could get him out of the car. While he has slowed down some this past year he still walks a good three miles virtually everyday and can still get himself up into the backseat of our SUV to accompany us almost everywhere we go. As for us - we cannot even put into words the joy Brando has brought into our lives. We both agree he is, without disrespect to all the prior dogs we owned and loved, the BEST of them all. He has been and still is the PERFECT companion - we were so blessed to have him come into our lives.
