The IRS has been sending out refund checks overseas in mass quantity, 655 checks have been sent out to just one address in Kaunas, Lithuania, and the IRS failed to recognize the likelihood of an identity theft scam prior to sending out millions in taxpayer dollars to this, and other international locations. Three hundred forty three checks were sent to one address in Shanghai, China, and literally thousands more have been sent to places in Bulgaria, Ireland and Canada throughout 2011. Overall, the Treasury Inspector General for the Tax administration found yesterday about 1.5 MILLION tax returns that are potentially fraudulent, at a taxpayer cost of over $3.2 billion.
