Adrienne Smith Wiggins of Temple, Texas, wrote in last month. We trust her daughter is on the mend: We have been in the hospital with my daughter for 4 weeks and greatly appreciate that the Ronald McDonald Family Room provides a free washer and dryer. Ive made do without my Charlies because they have one dye-free fragrance-free option for soap, and of course I dont use the softener sheets. However, this morning doctors were with us for a long time, and when I finally had a chance to move my wet clothes to the dryer, I found that a volunteer had done it for me ... with two dryer sheets! My first thought was that my clothes felt slimy. My second thought was, Good grief, how many wash cycles in Charlies is it going to take to get this nasty residue out of our clothes once we are home? Charlie, youve spoiled me. Of all the things about having my kid in a hospital for month that I could complain about, I find it humorous that bad laundry can annoy me.
