Adventures Up Nort, Yah Der Hey..Doncha KNow...Walworth County is considered up nort by folks from Chicago. We consider up nort to be Oconto County. Oconto County probably goes to Minnesota to feel up nort, and Minnesota goes to Canada. ...The first cabin was a real...adventure, to put it nicely. Burnt out lightbulbs, leaky pipes and the door lock didnt work. Not to mention the place was filthy..but the final straw was when the bathroom sink fell off the wall. My friend was crushed, because it was her place they used to go... But how could she know the owners let it go to crap over the last few years? So I marched right into the bar/office and demanded our money back. If we wanted to go camping, wed have brought a tent. Then we found our Shangri-La. The cabin was clean, comfortable, clean, pleasant and clean. It was secluded in the woods so far back that there was no interwebs or tv! oh, and it was so CLEAN! We watched movies and laughed and read books and played cards. The office was a lodge at this place. And it didnt smell of booze and despair, like the last places office. It smelled like home cooked chicken and dumplings. We made a pact, the four of us, never to disclose the location of the second resort because we dont want all those flatlanders taking over our sweet spot. This means we cant tell you the name of the first dump because we dont want you getting any clues. I will tell you the fall colors were in full swing. The trees were ROCKS STARS! Bam! Everywhere you look, a party in the canopy...Bright reds, oranges, yellows, still greens some places... BAM! It rained or was overcast both days, but with all the tree cover, you couldnt get wet. Just listen to the rain drops in the leaves...Mother Natures Concert, and the leaf show was killer, man.
