Obama told Congress last week that he would veto any debt-ceiling bill that included the Vitter amendment. The Vitter amendment forces executive branch officials, including the president and vice president to apply for healthcare through the Affordable Care Act. Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) offered the Republican-supported amendment that would force the president to “eat the food he cooked” and “sleep in the bed he made.” “This is really about fairness, making sure that Washington is forced to live under the same train wreck of Obamacare that is forced on the rest of America,” Vitter said. According to him, Obamacare is perfectly fine for ordinary hard-working Americans and small businesses, but it’s certainly not good enough for him.
